There are many different situations where injury rules apply:
- Accidents. Rules for personal injury apply in cases where someone acts carelessly and negligence causes harm to another person. Examples include car accidents, slips and falls, as well as other medical abuse.

The state may codify all its injury laws or may write down only some parts of the injury laws to explain how the law should address these issues.
