I love Neil Young records and I love me some Ben Keith. From some of my favorite records like Harvest, On The Beach, and Comes A Time, Ben was on it in many forms and fashions. I had the opportunity to see the pair play back in November of 2009. Neil Young introduced Ben and said, “Ben and I met and this was one of the first songs we played.” The song the two then played was Heart of Gold. RIP, Mr. Keith. I will be tracking for the new record next week in East Branch, New York. We have rented an old farmhouse and will be recording in a hay barn sweetly nestled in the Catskill Mountains. Here’s a video of our residence and studio. It feels like home.
